We were able to
have the McOmie family come for a visit. I
first met Nola and John when I was eating lunch at the hospital right before
Cole came home in April of 2014. They
were looking for a table to sit at and I was just finishing up so I told them
that they could have my table. As I
was finishing up Nola had John sit at the table while she bought their food. So
I did what any new mother with a son that might be in a wheelchair might
do, I asked John why he was in a wheelchair. John is a little slow to answer but don't let that fool you.
He has a wit about him. He told me that he was in a motorcycle accident a couple years
ago. When his mother, Nola came back with their food, she
told me the whole story. Over the last couple of years John has had to learn how to do everything again. ( He even stayed at the same hospital that Mark stayed at in Orem. Just two years later.) He is still working at it, but he has made a lot of progress since I had met him last year. I'm so grateful that my family was able to meet one of the amazing families that I have met over the last year.
My Dad's birthday is in February and he also died 5 years ago this year. So a couple of weeks ago I was laying in bed thinking about how we could celebrate him. I thought of having a "Remember When Party". This way there would be more stories to tell my kids about my Dad.
My Dad and his sister's Sue and Cora.
Here is my Mom Janet, brother Chris, sister Marcy and Me.
We had a great time getting ready for the school Valentines party. The boys were very creative this year.
