This morning Mark's mom took me to visit Cole. She had a Dr appointment at the U also so it worked out great. Cole had a pretty good night. He does this thing were is gets really relaxed and he slows down his breathing and his heart beat gets really slow for a few seconds. Then he starts breathing again and everything goes back to normal. I really don't like when this happens when I'm there. They say he should grow out of it. I just would hate for it to happen at home. He was looking as cute as ever. I love the little bit of time I get to spend with him.
While we were at the hospital, Martha lost her very important ring, of you could join with us in praying that it will be found, we would appreciate it.
I had a hair appointment for me, Tay and Miles today. Grateful to all the ppeople that drive me and my family around. Angie at File You Fancy is amazing. Dinner was brought in, we are so blessed. Miles had another basketball game so they dropped me off at the hospital and then went to his game. Cole was sleeply tonight. So nursing didn't go very well. But we still had a great time together. He is a champ weighing in at 3 lbs 12oz. Very excited about that! Luke made some pictures for Cole which he loved to look at.
The boys came and picked me up after Miles game. Gabe wore himself out. The other boys enjoyed a therapy dog we saw on the way out.

Sunday, Sunday!
It's been a week that I've been home without Cole. It's been hard to only visit him, but I know he is being well taken care of. My mom took me to visit Cole this morning. Cole had a good night. Eating, sleeping and pooping is what he has been doing, and he is doing it well. ;-)
My mom and I were able to go to church at the hospital. It was testimony sacrament meeting. It was a very spirital meeting. All the people that shared there testimony seemed to have learned to lean on the Lord in the last little while because of some kind of health issue. There was a young man about 23 years old, he shared that just 2 weeks ago he had a freak accident and is now paralyzed for the waiste down. He shared how hard it has been, but he knows that God has a plan, a mission for him. And just because he is in a wheelchair now it doesn't mean that has changed. This was the first meeting I have been to for over 2 months. I have to say that the spirit was amazing, something that I have missed.
We went to my Mom's to celebrate birthays. Happy Birthday Johnson's, almost my sisters whole family has their birthdays in Feb. So we were celebrating them today. After Mark and I headed up to see Cole. He had a little tummy issues, but they weren't too concerned. (He hasn't digest all his food from the feeding before.) But besides that he was doing well. When we were able to hold him he did a great job practicing nursing. Hopeful it's a step in the right direction. He just gets tired very fast. He weighed in at 3 lbs 10 oz. He has gained about an oz a day the last couple of days. Very exciting.

Crazy Saturday has returned!
This morning was pretty crazy getting everyone up to go to dance, basketball and seeing Cole at the hospital it was quite an adventure. After dropping Tay off to dance we headed to the hospital. We didn't have much time at the hospital this morning. Because we had to get Miles to his basketball tournament. Cole was doing good, still need a little air to help him remember to breath when he gets really relaxed.
Miles did really good at his game. They didn't win, but it was fun watching Miles do so well. We headed home to get the house in order. After I was very worn out so I took a long nap. After dinner Mark and I headed up to see Cole. He had a good day. He is weighing in at 3lbs 8oz. An oz above his birth weight! We are really headed in the right direction! We enjoyed holding and loving on him. Hate saying goodbye. :-(

Mark was able to take me to visit Cole today. Cole did good at breast feeding so the OT said that next time we could start trying to let him nurse a little bit. We are headed in the right direction. My Aunt and cousin (from out of town) came to visit Cole. It was a great morning enjoying Cole.
We headed back up in the evening. Tay came with us. Cole always enjoys seeing his sister. By the time I got to hold him, he was out! I guess he had way too much fun with his big sis.

My mom took me up to visit Cole today. It was fun to chat and catch up. Cole was still on lights. He was just waiting for some labs to come back to see if he could be done with them. He was still on oxygen. But just a little. He really doesn't like all the tube and stuff. He is always trying to pull them out. He is trouble. He will be a lot happier when he is done with the breathing tubes.
I came home and napped. My mom took the boys to her house to get in her hot tub. Dinner was brought in. We were joking that the pizza was as big as Gabe.
The boys made some pictures for Cole's room at the hospital. He loved them. When we got there he was off the lights. We talked and he said that he would work on growing, breathing, and resting. Hopefully tonight will be uneventful.

One Week old
I can't believe it's been a week. It seem like so long ago that he was born. We have been through a lot in the last week, but I feel blessed by how well Cole has been doing. I know that we still have a ways to go. I have to remind myself to take one day at a time.
My nieghbor was so nice to take me up to visit Cole this morning. Cole is under lights again for jaundice. They did some labs on him to check for an infection. Before they feed him they check for residual. Over the night he had one feed that was high. The labs came back good. So they are thinking that it might be the jaundice.
Mark took the boys to the Jazz game so I was able to visit with Cole for a longer time. They had a NBICU dinner that I was able to go to meet some other parents that have babies in the NBICU. It was interesting to hear their stories. Cole was pretty relaxed with the lights. Hopefully we can get them off tomorrow.

Little Feet
Mark and I were able to go in this morning to visit Cole together. My cousin was his nurse today. Wendy said that he did well during the night. We practiced nursing again and he did pretty good. It was pretty funny one time you could tell he sucked hard enough to get some milk. His eyes got really big and he swallowed really big. But because we are only practice he didn't do it again. He gets tried really easy. It was so fun to hold him and have him do so well with the nursing.
I was worn out when we got home. So I fell took a nap the rest of the afternoon. My friend brought over a gift of tiny onies it was fun to think about getting to dress him soon! Dinner was brought in. Our neighbors have some great ideas on meals. I'm excited to add them to our menu in the future. After we ate Mark and I headed up to see Cole. The nurse in charge of him was working with another baby so we had to wait a while to hold him. He didn't have as good of a day. His oxygen levels were going down when he was in deep sleep. So they decided to put a breathing thing in his nose to help. He is just getting too relaxed. I didn't practice feeding him, but enjoyed skin to skin time. It's hard to have to leave him. But I'm so grateful to know that he is being well looked after.
