Court of Honor
Miles received his Eagle Scout Sward this last Sunday. We are so happy for him. He has put in a lot of hard work. We are so grateful to him for being such a great example to his little brothers.
The Smith Family
Over Easter weekend we were able to talk with the Smith family that just found out that their son has Spina Bifida. Ashlie had done some business with Mark with loans in the past in which they had become FB friends. She said that she had seen the bumbo wheelchair that Mark had made for Cole, but hadn't thought about it at the time. But when they got the news that their son had SB she when back and found out that Cole has the same thing. She sent us a message via FB and we meet with them the next day. What a cute couple they are. With such a beautiful little daughter. Talking with them brought back a lot of memories. The worries, stress fear of the unknown... After we talked for a while and tried to answer all their questions they said that it brought a lot of comfort to see Cole. So grateful to be able to help them see that it's not at all like what you see on the internet.
They are at UCSF right now getting test done to see if they qualify for fetal surgery. Here is a link to their blog if you would like to follow their journey. http://nicksmithsfamily.blogspot.com/
After talking with them and pondering about the last year and a half. I am filled with so much gratitude. We have been so blessed by God. family and friends. Your love and support has truly carried us. Thank you!

St. George Trip
Our trip started out pretty crazy. We made it to about Beaver and the truck in front of us slid sideways and then flipped over the barrier. The driver seemed fine, he said his shoulder hurt, but I think he was mostly in shock. The passenger had head trauma. Luckily the other car that stopped to help had a Dr. in it. He said that he thought that the man had a concussion, but would be fine. It took a long time for the ambulance to get there because we were in the middle of nowhere. It was a miracle that they didn't roll down the hill. They were very blessed to be able to crawl out of the truck like they did.
After that we were all a little nervous. Gabe said that today was the worse day ever. But the good news is that we made it without anymore scary events.
Taylor did an amazing job in all her dances. We couldn't be prouder!
The house that we stayed at had a beautiful pool in the backyard, that the kids lived in.
We enjoyed hiking too. It was a great little get away.

Twice Born
The next two tuesday nights, April 7th and 14th, there is a special about the surgery that Cole and I had done. Last night was part 1. It mostly showed the couple with the child with SB doing a lot of tests to see if they qualified for fetal surgery. They left us hanging at the end because the Drs just told them they might not qualify because of her brain was not pulled down into the spinal column. We were told that we might not be able to because of a curve in Cole's back. So I know the heartbreak and worry that she talks about. It brought back a lot of memories. I hope you get a chance to watch it.
